Role of SLE Tours


Sri Lanka railway service is fully state owned and operated by Sri Lankan Railway (SLR). SLR does not offer online train tickets reservation facility itself. Mobitel company has sub contracted with SLR and offers online reservation facility. SLE Tours offers ''Train Tickets Reservation Service'' as a supplementary service to our clients. SLE  Tours does not have any authority over managing/ operating railways and online reservation system. Therefore SLE Tours, by offering this service, acts as a third party booking company and makes the reservation on behalf of the client.


Price

All the prices are quoted in USD. Prices quoted are appropriate to the time of quoting and included train ticket cost, Mobitel service charge, local/international call and message charges, transaction charges , service handling charge of SLE Tours and all government taxes .


Booking Policy

SLE Tours accepts limited booking requests per train (to maintain high probability of reserving tickets) and serves tickets on “first come first serve” basis. Accepting booking request doesn’t mean guaranteed train tickets to the client (as SLR opens train ticket reservation 30 days prior to travel date). At the time of confirming the booking client must pay the full payment of the quoted ticket price as per the journey . If SLE Tours failed to make the booking, full payment will be refund back to the client.


Cancellation/ Ammendment/ Changes Policy

Before make booking: Upto 30 days prior to the travel date client can make changes to his or her personal information (Passport, Email etc), but client cannot make any amendment or change to the TRAVEL DATE, TRAIN NO, TRAIN TIME and NO OF PAX. For any amendment or change to the travel date, train no, train time and no of pax, client must proceed with new booking request which is subject to availability and will result in forefeit of amount paid on initial booking request. It is strongly advised to double check the information provided before making booking request. After make booking: SLE Tours acts as a third party booking company, therefore we cannot accept cancellation/ amendment/ changes and refund after ticket booking is completed. In such event client must contact/ request direct from the train service provider (Sri Lanka Government Railway) .


Cancellations/ Delays By Sri Lankan Railway (SLR)

SLE Tours acts merely as a third party booking company. This means contract for delivering the rail transport service is between the client and the supplier of the rail transport service (SLR), and that SLE Tours is not responsible for any delays, cancellations or disruptions ( Natural Disaster / Industrial Dispute ) to the rail transport service. In such instance client may be entitled to partially compensation or a refund (face value of the ticket) from SLR in accordance with Sri Lankan Railway terms and conditions, client must claim refund at the railway station (SLR does not provide online refund) or contact directly Sri Lankan Railway.


Ticket Collection

Client can collect tickets from Railway stations (Colombo fort , Perdeniya , Kandy , Nanuoya , Ella ) which has ticket printing facilities by producing reference number and the passport (which is used to make the booking request). SLE Tours strongly recommend to collect the tickets at the railway station direct . 


Board the Train

SLE Tours recommend to be presence at the railway station at least 30 minutes before the train scheduled time. Client must produce Original Copy of the ticket when board the train. If client cannot produce a valid ticket for his or her journey when requested by the ticket inspector/ staff of railway, client will have to pay the appropriate fare on the train or have to pay a penalty fare or be reported for prosecution.


Limitations of Liability

SLE Tours will use reasonable efforts to delivering the train tickets reservation service in accordance with these terms and conditions. All train schedules published in this website is for general information purposes only. SLE Tours uses all reasonable efforts to provide accurate information and keep the information up to date, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability. It is strongly recommended to client to refer Sri Lankan Railway official website before the travel date regarding train schedules, carriage conditions and general terms and conditions of Sri Lankan Railway.
